Tidal Wave 03:38
You came without a warning, totally sincere A flicker in the evening A whisper in my ear With all the best intentions and danger on your lips Blowing me away with your fingertips Never stood a chance Caught beneath a tidal wave Never want to dance by myself anyway Fascination trembles in a wicked way Everything I'm thinking And never mean to say You came along so sudden and suddenly I'm gone Every single breath is a siren song Never stood a chance Caught beneath a tidal wave Never want to dance by myself anyway Been so long since I felt In control of myself I prefer your hands on the wheel Never stood a chance Caught beneath a tidal wave Never want to dance by myself anyway Tidal wave You’re a tidal wave You’re a tidal wave

Take my love and push it around Shape it in to something new With your finger on the pulse of my heart Take my love and push it around You and I were made for something more My love is all I have to give away to you Is it enough? Is it enough? Enough for you Maybe you are falling away Reaching out for something to touch When the air beneath your back is giving up ground I will be there, is it enough? You and I were made for something more My love is all I have to give away to you Is it enough? This could be our very own happy ending This could be our very own happy ending And to hell with anybody anywhere else You and I were made for something more My love is all I have to give away to you Is it enough? Is it enough? Enough for you

I tell myself a sweet beautiful lie that I am just fine Making friends with all the shadows on my bedroom wall It's safer on the inside Oh, can anybody hear me? Oh, is anybody there? Cause all this time I feel I was just screaming underwater Got a lucid mind and handsome face Loaded with grace Doesn’t make much sense to have it all And stare at the wall Pretending to be human Oh, can anybody hear me? Oh, is anybody there? Cause all this time I feel I was just screaming underwater Oh, can anybody hear me? Oh, is anybody there? Cause all this time I feel I was just screaming underwater I feel I was just screaming underwater

Coming like a gentle hurricane Rattling around inside our brains She is blowing in winds of change We have taken all that we can bare And I don’t think it got us anywhere Every one of us is in repair I close my eyes and see a world that’s waking From deep, deep sleep to find a world worth saving Wonder what the future holds for us Ash to ash returning us to dust She will take it back the way it was I close my eyes and see a world that’s waking From deep, deep sleep to find a world worth saving I close my eyes… A world that’s waking from deep, deep sleep to find a world worth saving Wake up, Sleepy Planet Wake up, Sleepy Planet

You could have been the one I loved and always thought of But now you’re just a memory A phantom I need wrapped around my brain Where you still remain And I swear that I could see it written on your face As you turned and walked away I should have known We were never going to be the way we used to be Reinventing the Afterglow Do you ever think of me when you are lonely? And all the world around you shakes under your mistakes I’m not sure it was love But it was good enough And I swear that I could see it written on your face As you turned and walked away I should have known We were never going to be the way we used to be Reinventing the Afterglow Every now and then I think about the end And I swear that I could see it written on your face As you turned and walked away I should have known We were never going to be the way we used to be Reinventing the Afterglow Reinventing the Afterglow Reinventing the Afterglow

I stood right there Watching the fireworks fill the air I heard the sounds People were laughing all around And the world was waking up And the world was waking up Tonight I feel alive And as all my days Start to retreat like ocean waves I will recall The night on the beach and taste of salt When the world was waking up And the world was waking up Tonight I feel alive Finally Tonight I feel alive Finally Tonight And the world was waking up And the world was waking up Tonight I feel alive Finally Tonight I feel alive Only takes a moment to change a life Only takes a moment to change a life Only takes a moment to change a life

Night falls down On this town Neon lights guiding the way All my ghosts drawling close Searching specters finding their way Watching cars go by Through the sideways rain All the world’s alive And all I can do is think of you Through the Sideways Rain In between all my dreams You are there waiting for me Watching cars go by Through the sideways rain All the world’s alive And all I can do is think of you Through the Sideways Rain Through bleary eyes And shaking hands I start to feel again Watching cars go by Through the sideways rain All the world’s alive And all I can do is think of you Through the Sideways Rain Through the Sideways Rain Through the Sideways Rain

Be There 03:59
It’s been quite a while Since I’ve seen you smile The way you could always light up the room I don’t recognize The distance in your eyes So detached from everything I knew We all need a place to lay our bones Somewhere safe to call our home I hope you always know I’ll be there I know it’s hard to tell I have suffered well We all have scars to prove that we’re alive We all need a place to lay our bones Somewhere safe to call our home I hope you always know I’ll be there We all need a place to lay our head When the storm rolls in again And the weight of it all is more that you can bear I’ll be there Time to release the ghost The one you’ve been holding close Let it go When the earth is strapped Firmly to your back You won’t have to carry it alone We all need a place to lay our bones Somewhere safe to call our home I hope you always know I’ll be there We all need a place to lay our head When the storm rolls in again And the weight of it all is more that you can bear I’ll be there You won’t have to carry it alone

Don’t ask me why I feel this way I can’t explain it myself Pulling me down under the waves I would be happy to drown You’re on my skin You’re on my skin You are a sunburn I can’t peel away You are my next great mistake Wonder if I was strong enough Could I have resisted you? But I never claimed that I was made Of anything more than flesh and bone You’re on my skin You’re on my skin You are surrounded by my ribcage You are my next great mistake Like a car crash I just can’t take my eyes of off you And even if I had the chance Why would I want to? You’re on my skin You’re on my skin You are a sunburn I can’t peel away You are surrounded by my ribcage You are my next great mistake

Don’t bite your tongue Say what you gotta say It’s there in your eyes Giving your game away I don’t know when I saw it first I’m sure it’s what I deserve And the consequence is mine to pay Hold on, hold on Give it a moment Hold on, hold on Don’t wanna throw it all away Into a night full of sharp edges Maybe it’s best These things aren’t meant to last We had our turn Now it’s time to collapse Like a beautiful tidal wave Washing us both away We fall quietly to the sand Hold on, hold on Give it a moment Hold on, hold on Don’t wanna throw it all away Into a night full of sharp edges Maybe it’s all over now But it used to be love Hold on, hold on Give it a moment Hold on, hold on Don’t wanna throw it all away Into a night full of sharp edges

Want You Now 03:41
When you walk into the room There is nothing I can do I can feel you taking over me Should have known it from the start My poor mechanical heart There is only you inside of me Driving the machine I am holding fire in my hand Feeling strong like Superman I can see the universe moving around I want you now And I’m feeling more aware Not feeling anywhere And I must admit that it feels good Like a lonely astronaut I can only breathe what I’ve got And I’d share it all with you If I only could I am holding fire in my hand Feeling strong like Superman I can see the universe moving around I want you now What can I do? I can’t shake you from my mind tonight I am holding fire in my hand Feeling strong like Superman I can see the universe moving around I want you now Want you now

And the starlight hanging over us Hasn't been this beautiful in years And on second thought it occurs to me It doesn't really have a thing to do with stars It's just being here alone with you in the dark I want to die just a minute before you do Cause I cannot live without you If there is a place that we go after this It will be the longest minute And the city lights surrounding us Spin around as the planet turns It feels to me Yeah, it feels to me Like we are the last two on earth And truth is it's more than I deserve I want to die just a minute before you do Cause I cannot live without you If there is a place that we go after this It will be the longest minute I want to die just a minute before you do Cause I cannot live without you I want to die just a minute before you do Cause I cannot live without you If there is a place that we go after this It will be the longest minute

about

Shortly after releasing my debut album "Solituda", I began the process of writing for my next album. While completing my first album, I had already begun writing songs like:

"Reinventing the Afterglow"
"Through the Sideways Rain"
"Sleepy Planet"

so I felt like I was off to a strong start and it gave me some direction. I tend to write in batches so I won't write anything for weeks & months but then I'll sit down and write three songs in a day before going into songwriting hibernation again. There's no telling when the songs will come so it can be a lengthy process and patience is required. As the months went on I found that I was accumulating a lot of strong material. In fact, only one song from these sessions didn't get recorded... a song called "Momentary Lights". It was a fine song but at the time we (me and my producer Mark) just didn't feel like it rose to the level of the other songs but I wanted to archive its existence somehow so that's how this album got it's title... a little piece of this lost song still lives on.
