about

This album is a tribute to Duran Duran and a celebration of Duranies everywhere.

Like so many, Duran Duran has provided the soundtrack for my life. From first kisses to first heart break. Moments I will never forget and evenings I struggle to remember. Graduations. Loves. Births. Deaths. Just about every major event, and the lost spaces between, Duran Duran has been there with me like a comforting friend. This EP is my opportunity to be there for them. To show my appreciation for their company all these years.

While I've always loved the "hits" and "singles" (can anyone else write a hook like Duran Duran?)... it was really the deeper, less obvious cuts that spoke to me, so the songs selected for this EP reflect the obscurity that only a Duranie could truly appreciate.

I’m super excited to have my friend and fellow Duranie, Baranduin Briggs, lend her artistic talents to the album cover design and photography. Since the songs are a celebration of Duran Duran - I wanted the cover to be a celebration as well.

I was fortunate to partner with my great friend and longtime Bittersweet Machines collaborator, Mark McKee, for my cover of "Winter Marches On". Mark is a pro’s pro and has an immaculate sense of style with an impeccable ear. The remaining tracks were co-produced by Dutch multi-instrumentalist and soundscape artist Marcel Agterhuis. I have been a fan of Marcel’s remixes for years and I really appreciate his talent for reimagination. I've been very lucky to work with such talented and caring collaborators.

About Marcel Agterhuis (Consequence of Sound):
If the lushly electronic pop of Marcel Agterhuis had to be described in one word, “experimental” would certainly be a good choice. But the new single “Finest Hour” from Dutch Producer/instrumentalist also makes sense from another artistic perspective. Never before has his music sounded this full of longing, yet firmly rooted in the present, confronted with an era that equally measures fear and hope. 80ish sounding vocals waft through dreamy guitars and synthesizer soundscapes with elegance that has always been Agterhuis`s trademark, but which now truly comes to the force.
